Flashback Theater Co. (FbTC) will be holding open auditions on Thursday, January 7th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, January 9th at 10 a.m. for its spring season of shows and events, including Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, the Let’s Play! acting company, and the season announcement cabaret. Auditions will be held at the Carnegie Community Arts Center. Actors need only attend one of the audition times.
Actors interested in auditioning can choose to apply to one or all of the opportunities. Details about the available roles are below. The audition will first consist of improvisation exercises. Those wishing to be considered for the cabaret should prepare a song or monologue of their choice that they would like to showcase at our season announcement cabaret. Let’s Play! Acting Company
Performances: Second Saturdays at 7:00, with the exception of production months.
As a member of the Let’s Play! acting company, you will be part of the core performance group at our monthly acting workshop. There are 7 spots available. Company members will attend at least 6 Let’s Play! events in the upcoming 12 months. These members will have the opportunity to perform with each other on a regular basis over the course of the year, and will be responsible for creating an encouraging learning environment for new performers that attend Let’s Play! Company members will also get first choice to participate in special projects that come up throughout the year (such as the development of new work or one night only events.)
ABOUT LET’S PLAY:
In the past, Let’s Play! has had themes such as: Improv Games, Storytelling, and Reader’s Theater. As the educational component of Flashback’s strategic plan, Let’s Play! is designed to give community members the opportunity to try performing, acting, and observing theater in a low-risk environment with an emphasis on having fun!
Be ready to play some improvisation games and do a few cold readings from scripts. If you have a headshot or performance resume, please bring it.
The 2016 scheduled dates for Let’s Play! are: February 13, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, September 10, October 8, November 12, and December 10.
