Scenework for Actors & Directors offered by Flashback Theater Co and McNeil Voice StudioIf you are looking for ways to develop your skills as an actor or director, you are in the right place. Flashback Theater Co. is offering a 6-week course to help you develop your acting or directing skills.

Scenework for Actors & Directors will focus on developing a scene from start to finish. You will learn to incorporate different elements of performance into your decisions to create a dynamic, believable character and scene.

Seasoned actors will increase their range of acting skills while new actors will learn what to expect from a rehearsal process and how to take direction. If you take the course as a director, you will learn how to communicate with actors to build a cohesive scene true to your vision.

The course is designed to give both actors and directors opportunities to develop their specific skill sets together. Each week, participants will be asked to incorporate the next step of scene development and will be given specific areas of performance to focus on. Each class period will end with a presentation of the progress made in front of the rest of the class. At the conclusion of the course, there will be an opportunity to present the final scenes at a public performance.

Instructor Sommer Schoch is the Producing Artistic Director of Flashback Theater Co. and has had years of experience on and off stage. She was most recently onstage in Steel Magnolias at the Star Theater in Russell Springs, Kentucky and most recently directed And the Tide Shall Cover the Earth with Flashback Theater Co.
