Flashback Theater’s Let’s Play! Second Saturday workshop series continues with an all new theme, Silent Movies. For this workshop, participants will get to learn about using their bodies to portray various characters and  tell an array of stories- without dialogue. While theatre is dialogue driven, good theatre is not dialogue dependent. We use our bodies every day to tell the world how we feel, whether we’re aware of it or not. Not only will this workshop help participants as a performer, it will make them more aware of what they’re projecting to the world.

Every month a different member of the Let’s Play! Company leads the workshop. This month the workshop will be lead by Amanda Balltrip. Amanda is an experienced performer and teacher. She has appeared before with Flashback as Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, and as Mattie in And The Tide Shall Cover the Earth. She is also a vocal instructor at McNeil Music Center. You can look forward to seeing her next as Stacey in Flashback’s upcoming special  October production of A Nightmare on Backstreet.

Part of Flashback Theater’s vision is to give local talent the opportunity to get on stage. Let’s Play! is our free monthly event that is open to any and all performing artists, theater lovers, and audience members. Each month will feature a different theme and this fall we are sure to not disappoint!
