Production: And the Tide Shall Cover the Earth

And the Tide Shall Cover the Earth will be presented blackbox style in two ballrooms at the Center for Rural Development. The setting is just after the construction of Wolf Creek Dam is completed, on the porches of a few members of the same family.

The show dates are: Aug. 7-9 and Aug. 14-15. Tech rehearsals will occur the week of Aug. 3.

The technical designer will coordinate with the director, stage manager and other crew members to create a lighting and sound design for the play. Light and sound will play an important role in indicating the change of time and place. This will be the first time the Center for Rural Development utilizes ballrooms for a blackbox theater experience so the technical designer must be willing to work with the Center’s theater staff members to create the lighting and sound environment necessary. A small budget will be provided for the designer to supplement the Center’s provided light and sound equipment.  The technical designer will be required to attend all production meetings and technical rehearsals, or about 8 meetings/rehearsals all together.
